About

About What We Do

Budget Tree Service is a family-operated, female-owned arborist business that has proudly served the Fraser Coast since 2008. Over nearly two decades, we've built a team of experienced arborists and climbers who genuinely care about the work they do, for residential, commercial and council clients across Hervey Bay, Maryborough and wider Fraser Coast region.

Every job is properly assessed, carried out safely, and finished to a standard we're proud of. We work to Australian standard AS 4373-2007 Pruning of Amenity Trees, hold full public liability insurance up to $20 million and have a dedicated office team keeping you informed from first enquiry through to completion.

Crown Lifting

Raising the lower canopy of a tree to improve clearance over driveways, buildings, fences and pathways. A practical solution for improving access, light and sightlines without compromising the overall health of the tree.

Vegetation Management

Large-scale clearing, slashing and ongoing vegetation control for residential, rural, commercial and council properties. We have the equipment and experience to manage significant areas efficiently while minimising disruption to the surrounding environment.

Once a tree is removed, the stump doesn't have to stay. We grind stumps below ground level, leaving the area flat and ready for replanting, landscaping, or simply reclaiming your yard space.

Stump Grinding

From routine frond removal and cleaning to full palm extraction, we safely and efficiently handle palms of all sizes. A tidy finish is guaranteed, with all material removed from the site on completion.

Who We Are

When you choose Budget Tree Service, you're choosing a team that treats your property, home, garden, vehicles and assets with genuine care and respect from start to finish. We pride ourselves on clear communication, punctuality and safe work practices, and you'll always know when our crew is on the way. Behind every job is a dedicated office team, fully maintained equipment and an in-house WHS Officer ensuring safety is built into everything we do.

We're the experienced, professional choice for people who want tree work done properly, by a team that genuinely cares about trees and the properties they work on.

How We Work

We understand that no two trees, and no two properties, are the same. That's why every job starts with a proper on-site assessment by one of our qualified arborists so that we can provide practical, tailored advice rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. We take the time to understand what's actually needed, and we'll always be upfront with you about the best course of action for the health, safety and long-term management of your trees.

Our team works in line with Australian Standards and industry best practices. Safety isn't something we talk about; it's built into every part of how we operate, supported by our in-house Workplace Health and Safety Officer who holds a Diploma in Work Health and Safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, we offer free, no-obligation quotes across the Fraser Coast. One of our arborists will attend the site to assess the trees, access and surrounding conditions before providing a clear, practical recommendation.

  • Do I need Council approval to remove or prune a tree?

You may. Factors like proximity to a dwelling, green zone classifications and heritage listings all play a role. We recommend completing the Council Vegetation Clearing on Private Property checklist and contacting Fraser Coast Regional Council's Development and Planning Section on 1300 794 929 before proceeding.

  • Is stump grinding included with tree removal?

Stump grinding is a separate service.

  • Are you insured?

Yes. We hold full Public Liability Insurance up to $20 million. All work vehicles and equipment are fully insured, and our staff are covered by WorkCover Queensland.

  • How do I know if a tree needs to be removed?

If a tree has been storm-damaged, or you've noticed changes in leaf cover, bark or structure, it's worth having it assessed. Our qualified arborists will inspect the tree and give you honest advice on the best course of action.

  • How soon can you complete my job?

We run several crews across the region and do our best to get to you as quickly as possible. Hazardous trees are always given priority. All works are weather-dependent, and if your job requires coordinating with other contractors, we're happy to liaise on your behalf.
